Fikardou, CY

Fikardou is a small settlement in the mountains of Cyprus listed as an UNESCO World Heritage Monument because its architecture and physiognomy has remained intact since the 19th century. The building is set into a slope overlooking the village. Local craftsmen built the exterior walls using stone collected on the site and pieces of broken roof tiles found in the area. The interior is generous and bright with interlocking spaces appropriately proportioned for their function.
