HOUSE FOR A WEAVER . Fikardou, CY . 2004-7

Nestled on a slope overlooking the mountain village of Fikardou, an UNESCO World Heritage Monument, this house was built by local craftsmen using stone and roof tiles found in the area. The exterior was in-formed by the topography and the orientation of the site. Internally the house was arranged and proportioned to provide optimal working light and natural ventilation and to facilitate the needs and rituals of living and weaving in this remote location.
